Description:
The RFP is an invitation to submit offers for The Supply and Install of a Wireless Functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS) System, as further described herein.
Interdisciplinary researchers at The Brain & Mind @ Western will use the Wireless fNIRS System to study the fields of 1) perception and action, which brings the neuroscientific study of the senses - touch, body position, hearing and vision - and of motor actions closer to the real world through advanced approaches to address real-life challenges such as rehabilitation in Parkinson-s disease, stroke, and other movement disorders; 2) hearing and communication, which includes fundamental systems involved in hearing and speech perception and rhythm perception, and will inform the design of hearing aids, assessment of hearing impairment, our understanding of neuroplasticity after cochlear implantation in children, and assessment of language function in children with neurological conditions; 3) optimizing development in childhood, which focuses on understanding key aspects of child development, and mi...
