Description:
This Request for Proposal (the “RFP”) by the Corporation of the Town of Cochrane (the “Town”) invites proposals from qualified Bidders (the “Bidder”) to supply and deliver approximately 4,500 tonnes winter sand.
The scope of work for this RFP is further described below:
The winter sand shall be delivered to Infrastructure Services Yard at 92 Second Street, Cochrane Ontario.The scheduled delivery date for the winter sand shall be between October 31 and November 4, 2025. Sand must not contain soft or friable particles or dirt in excess of 8% as determined by the Ministry of Transportation abrasive test and must be screened so as to meet the graduation requirements from attached OPSS. A sieve analysis certificate shall be provided to the Town of Cochrane at delivery. Prior to commencing work, the Successful Bidder shall provide the Municipality with the material testing results for gradation from a certified laboratory. The results shall conform to the most recent OPSS.MUNI 1004. During the course of the contract the Municipality may randomly sample the material being supplied to ensure compliance.The Successful Bidder shall conform to the most recent OPSS.MUNI 1001 and OPSS.MUNI. 1010 for this project. The quantities provided in this RFP are estimates and are subject to accommodate changes in road maintenance programs and other uncontrollable circumstances. The Bidder agrees to honour the prices provided in the submitted Proposals provided there is no substantial change in quantities. A 25% change in quantity after contact execution will constitute a substantial change from the Proposed quantities.Material weighing shall be carried out in accordance to OPSS.MUNI 102.The Successful Bidder is responsible for providing all necessary equipment and labour to ensue that the material is mixed to a consistent ratio prior to stockpiling.
