Description:
Ducks Unlimited Canada is partnering with BC Parks to redesign an existing wetland impoundment and dike system known as Moberly Marsh into a natural self-sustaining floodplain and wetland complex (the “Project”). The Project lies on the traditional territory of the Ktunaxa and Secwépemc peoples and is located on a 300-hectare floodplain along the Columbia River 14 km north of Golden (Figure 1). DUC and BC Parks plan to decommission and remove the water control structures, block ditches and other drainage features, remove or lower internal dikes, and create inlets and outlets in the perimeter dikes to reconnect floodplain processes and habitat. The Project will remove existing infrastructure and create conditions for natural and self-sustaining flooding.
DUC intends to enter into a Contract with the Successful Bidder for the purpose of designing and delivering phase 1 Services for the Project outlined in this Request for Proposals. DUC is accepting Proposals from Bidders qualified to perform the following Services including, but not limited to:
• Prepare and deliver the following reports in a timely manner:o An Updated Environment Management Plan for the proposed works,o A detailed restoration design plan to 1) restore internal works at Braul Marsh (northmost impoundment in Moberly Marsh) and 2) to design inlet/outlets at BraulMarsh.
