Description:
The works will consist of abandoning the existing 50mm domestic watermain (approx. 85m in length) within the graveled Lane and installing a 200mm HDPE watermain, reconnecting the existing services to newly installed service taps. The tie-ins to existing watermains on Cedar St. and Ash St. will require shutdown(s) and therefore 48-hour notices to residents from the Contractor. Disinfection and testing of the new watermain to applicable AWWA and NSF/ANSI standards will be required.

Re-surfacing of the Lane will consist of granular material to MOTI specifications and asphalt patch paving where excavation warranted asphalt removal. The work will require disruption of access to residents- garages and backyards - effort must be made by the Contractor to accommodate residents- access needs.

The works are expected to be completed over the winter, and substantial completion shall be achieved on or before April 15, 2025. Should it be necessary, the Contractor will be responsible for providing temporary frost protection of existing and newly installed watermains in the work area. No additional payment for protection or delays due to weather will be made.
