Description : This project includes renovation to one (1) of the existing radiography rooms to allow for replacement of the radiography equipment in an acute care hospital: Victoria General Hospital ("VGH"). Radiography equipment will be purchased separately by VIHA. Demolition work will include removal of existing radiography equipment, millwork, partial lead and non-lead walls and ceilings, including any hazardous material removal and remediation. Construction work will include installation of the new X-ray machine (Siemens), potential upgrade to the lead shielding in the existing walls, partial flooring, walls, doors, ceilings, and millwork. Additional scopes of work will include remove and reinstall of the patient lift system, and upgrade to existing plumbing and lighting components, pending confirmation of available budget. This project also requires an upgrade the base building electrical system, which will require after-hours work to accommodate. Minimal shut-down of radiography room is critical. This is one of the busiest imaging departments on the South Island. Phasing the work to ensure minimal shut down is required. All work will be performed in accordance with the CSA Z317.13 standard.
