Detailed_Description : The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) is seeking to establish a Vendor of Record (VOR) for suppliers to provide Independent Forest Audits (IFA) for Crown forests in Ontario.
Scope of Work : Independent forest audits are an integral part of Ontario's sustainable forest management framework. Independent Forest Audits have been carried out on Forest Management Units (FMU) in Ontario since 1996. Each FMU in the province is audited approximately every 10 years. There are currently 39 FMUs in the province.An independent auditor assesses the performance of both the sustainable forest licence holder and the MNR in meeting their forest management responsibilities.It is anticipated that between three and five audits per year will take place between 2026 and 2030. Each Independent Forest Audit must be conducted in compliance with the Independent Forest Audit Process and Protocol (IFAPP) as may be amended from time to time. The IFAPP has been designed to meet the requirements of the Crown Forest Sustainability Act, 1994, Ontario Regulation 319/20 (found online at: https://www.ontario.ca/laws/regulation/r20319).The Ministry estimates the amount of work over the term to be, with no guarantee of the amount of work offered to any Supplier, approximately between three and five IFAs per year.The Ministry will request Independent Forest Audit work competitively, through a second-stage selection process.
