Description:
To support preparatory work for the potential future use of the Fuel LCA lifecycle assessment (LCA) model to make carbon intensity (CI) determinations under British Columbia-s Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS). The scope of work will include: A comparative sensitivity analysis of the CI values estimated using the GHGenius and Fuel LCA models to evaluate how input variations affect CI outcomes; A review and collection of key data from external databases and peer-reviewed literature; An assessment of data accuracy, regional representativeness, and volatility relevant to fuels supplied to BC; and Recommendations for input assumptions and model configurations that reflect BC-specific policy needs. This work will inform BC-s collaboration with Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) to adapt Fuel LCA for provincial use, ensuring regional data integration and methodological alignment, and enabling broader interjurisdictional harmonization of CI modeling.
