Tender are invited for Ultra High Vacuum Scan Probe Microscope
Project Description : The Department of Physics requires an ultra-high vacuum scan probe microscope that meets the following:• Has proven capability of atom resolved imaging in scanning tunneling and atomic force microscope modes;• Optical access to the sample to enable probe-sample alignment and delivery of light, gas, or beams of evaporated material to the sample and tip;• In the magnet-free configuration the helium cryostat must offer a liquid helium hold time in excess of 200 hours;• It must have a non-magnetic scan head to enable high-fidelity measurements in both static and dynamic magnetic fields;• The sample plates and mating receptacle must have at least 10 electrical contacts;• It should have a 10 mm range of z-travel of the tip together with a suitable tip handling facility to enable tip exchange without removal of the sample from the microscope;• It should have an integrated 5 Tesla magnet; and• An integrated 1K pot is required to enable operation at temperatures below 1.5 KelvinScienta Omicron is the only supplier who can meet the above technical requirements
