Description:
The University Hospital of Northern BC (UHN) is in the middle of a multi- year, multi-phase renovation of several departments within the lab. In 2024 Phase 1 of the renovation was completed which allowed for the installation of a new line of Lab Chemistry Analyzers. Phase 1 included some major mechanical upgrades and abatement of hazardous materials. Phase 2A has been fully designed and has a complete IFT drawing and specification set for the installation of a Siemens Aptio line (already acquired by the owner) into the new Lab Chemistry Analyzers. The 1200 sq ft corresponding footprint within the lab will require abatement and renovation to tie into the new mechanical system installed in Phase 1 as well as to prepare the space for the lab hematology department to move in future phases. Phase 2A renovation will take place in two scopes of work to allow lab operations to be uninterrupted during construction. Scope 2A-1 will accommodate the Siemens Aptio installation with related upgrades. Scope 2A-2 involves minimal upgrades and hazardous materials abatement in front of the shower area. As the design has been completed, we are seeking consultant services for construction support and contract administration. The scope includes architectural coordination, mechanical, electrical and minor structural revisions.
