In January 2024, the Town approved a Tree Protection By-law 2024-02, which details the requirements of tree plantings or financial compensation when the Town grants development approvals. With the adoption of the new Tree Protection By-law, the municipality intends to prepare a strategy to maximize tree plantings, enhance tree canopy, while being financially responsible with the Tree Reserve funds.
