Description:
The Town of Milk River is seeking qualified contractors to submit their qualifications for the construction of lagoon upgrades within the municipality. This project aims to enhance the lagoon system-s capacity, improve environmental compliance, and ensure long-term operational efficiency. Major work items for this contract may include but are not limited to the following, subject to change based on final design, approvals, and project requirements: 12,500m³ of existing lagoon desludging and disposal, Sanitary bypass pumping, 82,000 m³ of waste excavation (to be determined if disposal is to local stockpile or off-site), 20,500 m³ of common excavation, 1,200 m of HDPE pipe, 950 m of perforated tile drain, Precast concrete vaults and manholes, 135,000m² of geosynthetic liner, Ditch and outfall grading, Surface restoration including fencing; gravel vehicle access; grass; and associated works. Construction cannot commence until the effluent is permitted to be discharged into the Milk River as identified in the standards and guidelines set forth by Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development. Effluent discharge is dependent on the completion of the St. Mary-s siphon replacement project. Any delays in the siphon project will directly influence the overall construction timeline and start date.
