Description:
Community Safety and Well-Being (CSWB) branch is inviting Proponents to provide Submissions outlining their ability to administer and promote the Listen Project. CSWB is seeking one (1) supplier to coordinate legal advice and legal representation for victims of sexual assault and intimate partner violence through the Listen Project. The Successful Supplier will, through a partnership with the Ministry of Justice and Attorney General, connect victims with lawyers across the province who have received specialized training in sexual violence, trauma, the Criminal Code, immigration law and provincial supports. Victims can contact the Listen Project by phone, email or text to the referral number and the Supplier will complete a basic intake with that individual. A referral is then made to a lawyer from a pre-existing list of legal services that the Listen Project has agreements in place with. The referral will be based on external factors such as geographic region, gender, language, etc. Once the lawyer has been chosen that will best fit the individual, the victim is provided with the lawyer-s contact information. The individual then bears the responsibility to reach out to the recommended service if they choose to do so. Should the individual choose to utilize the services, they will begin with two hours of consultation, which can be extended up to four hours if necessary. Information on the Listen Project and how to make referrals have been shared with service providers who would be in contact with individuals who have experienced sexual and intimate partner violence, including victim services, sexual assault agencies, shelters, physicians, psychologists and hospitals.
