- Detailed_Description : The Ministry wants to understand what type of hospital beds are currently available in the marketplace that are best suited for Adult Correctional Institutions. Through the Market Day exercise, the Ministry will have a better understanding of what the market can support and supply, this will help the Ministry to develop hospital bed requirements for Adult Correctional Institutions for a potential procurement opportunity. In particular, and as described in the documents, the Ministry is seeking information on the available functionality and features of hospital beds available for purchase within Canada.
Scope of Work : There are 5 Ontario Adult Correctional Institutions (ACI) that have infirmary units. Infirmaries are units where patients who require additional nursing assessment, observation, and treatment are placed to meet their health care needs. The care provided in an infirmary is not a substitute for the alternate level of care that can only be provided at a hospital. There are a total of 81 hospital beds and mattresses in these 5 ACIs. The hospital beds that are currently in use are discontinued, replacement parts and repairs are not available or possible, due to their age. As such, the Ministry is exploring an option to replace these beds and mattresses.Participants must: •Hold a valid medical device establishment license (MDEL) which permits the participant to sell medical devices in Canada The Ministry is particularly interested in participants who are sellers of hospital beds in Canada with expertise and experience in the following areas: •Providing hospital beds for use within forensic mental health hospitals•Providing hospital beds with security and tamper resistant features•Providing hospital beds for use within adult correctional facilities•Working with people housed in a 24/7 secure setting. - Documents:
