- The CIB, in collaboration with the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce and the Province of Manitoba, is currently evaluating the investment needs to support critical mineral projects within Manitoba (the "Project"). Manitoba is home to 30 of the 34 critical minerals identified by the federal government, including all six minerals that Canada recognizes as having the greatest potential to drive domestic supply and manufacturing: lithium, copper, nickel, cobalt, graphite, and rare earth elements. Despite this significant mineral wealth, many of these resources are located in underexplored remote areas that lack essential transportation, telecommunication, and utility infrastructure necessary to support these projects.
