- Tender are invited for Supply of Full-Color LED Dynamic Message Signs (DMS)
Project Description : The City of Calgary is looking for a qualified Proponent to supply full-color LED Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) required for various purposes throughout the City-s roadway network. These DMS are intended to display both locally-stored messages based on a set of inputs, and remotely-administered messaging delivered from the Mobility Operations Center. These DMS are expected to operate under harsh weather temperatures, and dusty environmental conditions without failing. They must work effectively in these severe conditions to provide sufficient resolution and illumination to assist motorists in their navigation of city streets.The first planned location for a DMS message sign is overhead 6 Avenue SW west of 11 Street SW as part of the Bow Trail Reverse Lane Control System, providing dynamic lane guidance signs. Future locations have yet to be determined.The scope of work under this RFP includes supply and delivery of a DMS sign, performance testing and verification prior to installation, coordination with a structural engineering consultant for mounting bracket design, and testing and verification following installation by others.
