For: Supply and Installation of a Prefabricated Residential Structure/ Garden Suite
In a pilot project, the Simcoe County Housing Corporation (SCHC) is requesting Proposals for the construction/supply, delivery and installation Prefabricated Residential Structures, also known as a Garden Suites; self-contained accessory residential buildings designed to be ground-oriented suites in the backyard of a single residential dwelling property.
The Garden Suite pilot project aims to shortlist up to three (3) different prefabricated residential structures for construction in 2025. The prefabricated residential structures will be monitored for one (1) year from completion of installation(s). Garden suites will then undergo a secondary evaluation (Schedule C) including, but not limited to the unit-s durability, cost, design, tenant feedback and contractor performance prior to standardizing up to three (3) prefabricated residential structures eligible for construction in future years contingent on funding opportunities and Council approval to proceed with the full implementation of the Garden Suite Project.
