Description:
This RFP is an invitation to submit offers for the Supply and Install of a Single Crystal X-ray Diffractometer

The requested instrument will be used at the University of Western Ontario to perform high throughput single crystal X-ray structure analyses. The instrument will be used to collect data on a wide variety of chemical compounds including organic, inorganic, organometallic, mineralogical, and pharmaceutical compounds.
Aside from routine structure determinations, the instrument will be used to collect data which require high resolution and highly accurate data to provide more in-depth information about structures when necessary. For example, the instrument will be used to collect data of sufficient quality in order to determine absolute structures (i.e. chiral sense of a structure), or when the structure is to be refined using non-spherical scattering factors. In addition, the instrument will be used to collect data on twinned crystals and other problematic samples.
Budget:
The estimated budget for this project is $650,000 plus HST.
