Description:
Evidence has demonstrated that contaminated personal protective equipment (PPE) may expose firefighters to hazardous biological and chemical contaminants and reduce the effectiveness of the protection it is intended to provide. This cancer prevention program aims to follow the science and concentrate on exposure reduction through inhalation and absorption.
Supply and Delivery of three (3) SCBA PPE Equipment Washer Decontamination units. The decontamination units must be designed to safely and effectively clean and decontaminate various “hard shell” personal protective equipment components that cannot be effectively cleaned in bunker gear extractors which are designed for “soft goods”. These units must have be effective at removing dangerous carcinogens from various “hard shell” equipment such as self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), helmets, SCBA face pieces and boots.
