Description:
The Ministry purchases an average of approximately 4000 Lengths of Forestry Fire Hose per year to replace Forestry Fire Hose which was burned or damaged beyond repair. This amount of Forestry Fire Hose purchased in any year can be subject to significant fluctuation depending on the severity of the fire season. The approximate average annual purchase quantity referred to above is not to be considered as a forecast or representation, guarantee or commitment of any future annual Forestry Fire Hose purchases by the Ministry and is provided as background information only. This figure is based on past requirements and may be greater or less than actual quantities of Hose purchased in any year under any Agreement resulting from the RFB.

The Ministry relies on Forestry Fire Hose as a significant tool in the suppression and control of forest fires. With Ontario-s wealth of natural water sources, pumps and Hose are still considered key devices in fighting fires. The Ontario inventory for 38mm Hose is approximately 38,000 Lengths.
