Description:
Description of Required Product or Service British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority ("BC Hydro") requires the supply and delivery of Ductile Iron Articulated Split-Pipe for submarine cable support. The Ductile Iron Articulated Split-Pipe must meet the following minimum requirements: 1. The split-pipe design shall ensure physical protection of submarine cables installed in saltwater, in high wave energy areas , in sub-tidal zones, in areas where sediment mobility can expose buried cables 2. The split-pipe sections shall connect and interlock by hook and pin arrangement and articulated /by ball and socket connection that allows a flexible connection but restrict cable bending to at least 1.5 m. The two parts shall be identical 3. Shall fit on a cable with 66 mm diameter 4. The split pipe shall have a minimum wall thickness of 9 mm 5. The split pipe shall be made from Spheroidal Graphite Cast Iron ISO 1083 with: a. Minimum tensile strength of 400 N/mm2 b. Yield point (minimum) 200 N/mm2 c. Minimum elongation at break of 15% 6. The manufacturer shall have completed the following type tests: a. Bend test 15 ton b. Crush test 15 ton c. Impact resistance: 12 m drop test of 26 kg d. Brinell hardness, and e. chemical composition. 7. Stainless steel SS316 bolts, washers nuts to be included at least for every 5 m 8. Maximum section length 0.5 m 9.
