    Project Description : The Province has a requirement for Application Services to develop a service modernization Strategy and IMT Roadmap in support of the following business activities: Albertans own 81% of the province-s mineral rights and the Alberta government manages those resources on their behalf; the remaining 19% is owned by the federal government, individuals and corporations. In 2016, Alberta was the world-s 8th largest producer of crude oil and 8th largest producer of natural gas. Currently, there are around 174,000 operating wells in Alberta. The Alberta government collects royalties from companies monthly when an oil or gas well or oil sands project is in production. Royalties are a major source of revenue that helps pay for programs and services, such as health and education, enjoyed by all Albertans.Each producing oil or gas well, or oil sands project, has its own royalty rate. Resource prices and production levels change over time, so the total amount of royalties collected by the government changes each year. Royalty Programs are established to provide royalty relief for wells/projects that are not economical for the company to proceed with without the royalty relief.
