Address:York UniversityProcurement Services4700 Keele StreetToronto, OntarioCanada, M3J 1P3 Description:York is inviting Proposals from qualified Proponents for the construction and delivery of the static Thermal-Hydraulic-Mechanical ("THM") triaxial system. The advanced static THM triaxial system (250kN static-20 Mpa) is intended to characterize soil, weakly-consolidated rocks, and 3D printed porous materials under a wide range of thermal loading (-20 C to +100 C) and mechanical loading. The proposed triaxial system is intended to enable the growth of the emerging area of geothermal energy and climate-resistant infrastructure. This apparatus enables temperature-controlled triaxial testing to provide fundamental knowledge on the thermo-mechanical behavior of materials under a wide range of thermal and mechanical loads. This equipment will be used for characterizing porous samples (natural and 3D printed) under a wide range of thermal and mechanical loading at different moisture contents and porosities. Some key contributions from the triaxial experiments include development of advanced constitutive models, and determination of design parameters and their variations with temperature loads.York will only consider Proposal submissions received from Proponents who have registered with MERX (www.MERX.com) for this competitive bid.
