Description of Saskatchewan Health Authority Service Requirements Early diagnosis of hearing loss is essential in overall health outcomes in the pediatric population. Within the Saskatchewan Health Authority, there are significant waitlists in both Regina and Saskatoon for routine, baseline hearing assessments for children aged 18 months to 18 years. The purpose of this document is to identify potential qualified vendors for the provision of private routing, baseline hearing assessments for children aged 18 months through 18 years to ensure children have access to timely hearing assessments. The deliverables include: Standard Audiology Test Battery Including: Case history Cursory otoscopy Ear specific air conduction behavioural audiometry from 250 to 8000 Hz using the most age or developmentally appropriate test paradigm (visual reinforcement audiometry, conditioned play audiometry, or standard audiometry). Bone conduction audiometry 500 to 4000 Hz (when indicated). 226 Hz Tympanometry Distortion product otoacoustic emissions, including 2000 to 4000 Hz minimum In cases of very young or difficult to test children, minimal requirements for screening of “hearing within normal limits” include: Ear specific audiometric responses reliably present at 25 dBHL or better from 500 to 4000 Hz minimum in both ears or ? a combination of sound field responses reliably present at 25 dBHL from 500 Hz to 4000 Hz and present DPOAEs from 2000 to 4000 Hz in both ears.
