Description:
York Region District School Board is seeking bid submissions from qualified vendors for the Special Education Equipment (fixed and portable) safety inspections and minor repairs.

The following equipment is included in this annual inspection:
• ceiling lifts with fixed and portable units,
• floor lifts, manual and electric,
• height adjustable change tables, wall-mounted and portable.

The objective of this proposal is to establish a relationship with a Vendor for inspections of Special Education equipment (as per "Appendix A- Inventory List") on an as-required basis. This relationship will allow the Board to ensure that we are purchasing quality service at a competitive price, while improving management reporting and reducing material and administrative costs.
Annually the Board spends approximately $24,000.00 on special education equipment inspections. This is an estimate only and should not be construed as a guarantee; rather it is shown to provide an indication of the potential of this Contract.
It is mandated by the Board, that all persons who are in direct contact with students, shall obtain a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC), as performed by local police authorities. In this RFP it is not anticipated that a Vendor or their employees would come in direct and regular contact with students.
