- *Merx reference #0000256128*The University of Calgary intends to purchase the CosMx Spatial Molecular Imager (SMI) from Nanostring. This system can visualize and quantify targeted protein and gene expression on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue, fresh frozen (FF) tissue, tissue microarrays (TMAs) and organoids directly from single cells down to subcellular resolution, within morphologically intact tissue samples. The facility currently has the Nanostring GeoMx which can be used to investigate up to the whole transcriptome 18,000+ targets and 100 antibodies on the same slide. This fits seamlessly with the CosMx at downstream workflows which resolves RNA and protein expression at single molecule, subcellular resolution in situ. It is mandatory that the new system is compatible with the GeoMx system.
