Project Description : The City of Fort Saskatchewan is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to provide solid waste collection and processing services per the terms of this RFP. Fort Saskatchewan is located 25 kilometres northeast of Edmonton, Alberta. The City's population is 26,942 (2019 municipal census). Curbside solid waste service is provided to approximately 8,850 single-family households (garbage, organics, recycling), 916 apartment units (recycling), and 10 City facilities (organics). The City is seeking qualified proposals to provide a high level of customer service in each Area of Service identified in the RFP. The City wishes to increase its solid waste diversion and seeks proponents who will act as a partner with the City to achieve this goal. The Successful Proponent will be required to diligently track and report waste tonnages using industry best practices including use of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tracking equipment for automated roll carts and perform regular audits to contribute to the City-s ongoing waste reduction and diversion efforts.
