For: SIMCOE COUNTY TRANSIT (LINX/LINX PLUS) OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE
The County of Simcoe, located in the Greater Golden Horseshoe (GGH) area of Ontario, has an estimated population of over 530,000 people and is the largest County based on population and third largest based on physical size in Ontario. Spanning over 4,800 square kilometres, the County encompasses sixteen (16) member municipalities surrounding the separated cities of Barrie and Orillia. The County-s population is growing steadily, with increasing demand for transit access across both rural and urban centres. Transit services are intended to provide regional connections between primary settlement areas (i.e. hubs) in the County and to the adjacent cities of Barrie and Orillia.
SIMCOE COUNTY LINXThe County-s conventional public transit system began its operations in 2018. The LINX transit system links major urban hubs and local transit services in the County of Simcoe. LINX provides residents and visitors with a reliable and courteous transit system in clean, safe and accessible vehicles.
LINX currently operates six (6) fixed routes operating Monday to Friday between the hours of 5:30a.m. and 7:00p.m.
Route 1 - Penetanguishene/Midland to BarrieRoute 2 - Wasaga Beach to BarrieRoute 3 - Orillia to BarrieRoute 4 - Collingwood to Wasaga BeachRoute 5 - New Tecumseth to Bradford West GwillimburyRoute 6 - Midland to Orillia
Route 4 - Collingwood to Wasaga Beach also offers weekend and holiday service, refer to Routes & Schedules - Simcoe County for additional information.
Simcoe County Linx service currently operates twenty-two (22) conventional transit buses with an additional ten (10) 40- conventional buses to be delivered in 2027.
