Description:
Community Standards will be purchasing data of short-term accommodations listed on hosting platforms like Airbnb and Vrbo. The data will include the address of properties advertising accommodations in dwellings for terms less than 30 days, a copy of the listing is regarding other information not visible to the public when searching these platforms, such as how long the property has been listed, and number of nights booked. Data reports on the number of unique property listings accommodating more than 2 guests are also required. The information will be used to conduct enforcement. Businesses that do not comply with licensing requirements and address bylaw contraventions will result in prosecution. The vendor will need to provide evidence of the listing and address identification suitable for entry in a court record, such as an affidavit. Listing information must be updated by the vendor at least every 30 days.
