- The City of Burlington is seeking proposals for a two (2) year pilot program to introduce and test e-scooter micromobility services to improve urban mobility, reduce traffic congestion, and promote sustainable transportation options. The goal of the pilot program is to evaluate the effectiveness of e-scooter transportation, analyze its potential benefits, and ensure safe integration into the existing transportation infrastructure.
The shared micromobility pilot program created through this contract is initially limited to the Centennial Trail System. The future expansion of this program could include electric bicycles on City trails and opting into the provincial e-scooter pilot to permit e-scooters on City roads. Findings of this pilot will inform the City-s next steps as it contemplates participation in the provincial pilot. - Documents:
