- Description:
- The contract consists of the development of approximately 156,000 cubic meters of timber for auction. This contract contains some previously started work, with the majority being new development. Timber sale licenses are primarily in the northern range of the South Zone Field Team Okanagan-Columbia Business Area, except for one license. Layout will require the implementation of some partial harvest systems, along with conventional and steep layout. Two licenses fall within the Barton Operating Area, which can take 2+ hours of travel time from the marshalling point of Vernon. It is recommended that contractors utilize a camp system for developing these sales to maintain productivity. Furthermore, the contract contains tight schedule parameters to meet broader sales schedule goals, with limited flexibility to alter deadlines as stated in the Schedules.
