Runway 07/25 Resurfacing and Upgrades
Location : Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador, West Coast-Northern Peninsula-Labrador
Job Location : Deer Lake, NL

Description : The work involves the resurfacing and upgrading of runway 07-25, Taxiway Alpha, Apron One at the Deer Lake Regional Airport. All asphalt pavements are to be milled an average of 50mm. The runway will be reprofiled to eliminate ruts and areas of ponding. Selective milling of base asphalt will be required along transverse cracks in the runway. The concrete portion of Apron One is to be removed, excavated and reconstructed with new granulars and base asphalt. Select sections of Apron One will also be excavated and reconstructed with new granulars and base asphalt. All new surface asphalt to be 50mm compacted surface asphalt. The work will also involve the placement of airfield pavement markings. Electrical work involves the replacement of runway edge light and threshold lights with upgraded LED fixtures and transformers. Secondary cables for threshold lights are also to be replaced. Select electrical materials will be supplied by the owner. All demolition, excavation, trenching, backfilling, and material placement related to the electrical work is not included in the unit prices, and is to be included in a separate lump-sum for electrical work.
