Description:
The Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) requires the services of a Contractor to undertake bank stabilization works along a portion of the Williams Granger Greenway trail, on the East Humber River, located near 299 Stegman-s Mills Road, Kleinburg, ON, or otherwise known as Binder Twine Park.
The site is regulated by the TRCA and works are to be completed by Contractors who are knowledgeable in working around and in water, following TRCA permitting requirements. The project involves the full removal of an existing armourstone wall and the construction of a combination of an armourstone wall and vegetated rock buttress (VRB).
The general scope of work includes, but is not limited to the following:
Mobilization to site, including site fencing, tree protection works, preparation and protection of access routes; Pedestrian and vehicular traffic control; Stream control through installation of coffer dams. Potential for phased creek isolation and dewatering with coffer dams and by-pass pumping, depending on creek flows;In-water work in Species at Risk (SAR) habitat;Installation, maintenance and removal of environmental protection/erosion and sediment control measures;Earthworks and installation of vegetated rock buttresses, toe trench and root wads to protect watercourse bed and banks from erosion;Removal of existing armourstone wall and construction of a new armourstone wall; and,Access and staging restoration, site restoration and plantings for habitat enh...
