ROLE OF CAPITAL REGIONAL DISTRICT
Under the Southern Gulf Islands Harbours Service (SGIHS), there are 13 dock facilities on 6 islands. The facilities are owned by the Capital Regional District (CRD). These facilities provide a vital link to island community residents and visitors by providing moorage, access points for supplies and mail delivery, water taxi points, ambulance service, Royal Canadian Search and Rescue, and refuge in case of inclement weather or emergency.

PURPOSE OF THIS RFPQ
CRD to prequalify one or more prospective Service Providers of General Contractors - Marine and Dock under different categories. There will be six (6) categories in which a Services Provider may qualify under depending on their area of expertise. Resulting contracts will be on an "as and when needed" basis with no guarantee of a minimum.
Parties that submit a response to this RFPQ are referred to as "Service Providers" and their submissions to this RFPQ are referred to as "Applications". At the conclusion of the prequalification process set out in this RFPQ (the "Prequalification Process") it is expected that one or more Services Providers will have been successfully prequalified ("Prequalified Suppliers").
