Description:
Fraser Health is seeking experienced and qualified proponents to provide youth peer support program and related services to youth who have mental health and substance use needs with support to learn new skills and connect with community resources. The program will utilize trained peer support workers who have experienced mental health and substance use challenges themselves and are therefore in a unique position to offer support to others. Peer support is recognized as a necessary component of a full spectrum of mental health and Substance Use services. The youth peer support contract aims to enhance personal support and improve system access and navigation for young people accessing Mental Health and Substance Use services (MHSU) in the Fraser Health region, including but not limited to Child, Youth and Young Adult MHSU (CYYA) and related services; for a health authority or a health region (or a public-sector entity) in Canada, and/or in the province of British Columbia, preferably, or in North America. Objectives of the RFP The successful proponent(s) will provide the services to achieve the following outcomes: for Clients Increased personal resourcefulness, self-belief, hope and self-determination. Improved mental health and substance use system access and navigation.
