In 2015, SFU completed the multi-year Residence and Housing Master Plan 2015 - 2035 that helped direct decision making regarding the growth of students housing on all three campuses. The five-phase plan identifies the amount and type of student housing and related amenities and learning facilitiesneeded to attract and support student who would want to study and reside on campus. SFU is currently at the Phase 3 of the current plan. Ten years has passed and much has changed in the post-secondary and housing landscape. Building off the original plan, SFU would like to do a mid-phase check inbefore we proceed onto the next two phases.Update to the Housing Master Plan (2025 2035) A refreshed and comprehensive Housing Master Plan integrating: Current conditions, including enrolment trends, housing demands, municipal zoning, and economic factors impacting SFU's three campuses; SFU campusmaster plans; Alignment with SFU's Residence and Housing Master Plan 2025-2035, updated SFU strategic lens (SFU What's Next Strategy, Academic Plan (2025-2030), Strategic Research Plan, SFU Accessibility Plan, and The Equity Compass., etc.) to support academic excellence, student well-being,sustainability, and community engagement; Student, Staff and Faculty feedback; and Update promising practices and peer-reviewed research related to student housing and student success.
