- Project Description : The Rocky View Foundation has approval in principle to commence design and planning for a new construction that will replace the existing Big Hill Lodge facility located at 98 Carolina Drive, Cochrane, Alberta. The new property will be owned and operated by the Foundation.The new facility will consist of approximately 90 - 110 of mixed studio and 1 bedroom units and provide amenities and common areas typical of modern supportive living accommodation, including a commercial kitchen and laundry and common dining, activity, support and spiritual areas. It will also house administrative offices. It is the intent of the Rocky View Foundation to commence construction on this facility, pending approval of funding application to the Province of Alberta, as soon as practicably possible in 2024. Master planning considerations should be included for expansion capacity of additional housing on the site at a later date.Project financing has been secured for the pre-development phase of this project and land for the new building has been donated by the Town of Cochrane. The project is broken into development phases to address funding and financing requirements and timing associated with the Government of Alberta Affordable Housing Partnership Program (AHPP), CMHC National Housing Co-Investment Fund (NHCF) and related approval stages of Rocky View Foundation.In the event the client does not receive provincial / federal funding the design of the BHL Lodge project...
