Description:
The primary objective of this RFP is to select a proponent to provide the WCB with physical security at two of its locations: 1. Halifax 2. Sydney We require one (1) trained professional uniformed officer per day, for our Halifax (South Street) site and for our Sydney site (a total of two (2) guards). The shifts will be from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Duties may include but are not limited to: • Monitor lobby, interview rooms, staff space and building perimeter via security CCTV camera system and physical foot patrols; • De-escalate and, if necessary, escort individuals off WCB property and restrain any individuals physically endangering Board staff, clients or property; • Monitor parking areas and issue parking tickets after notifying and receiving direction from CORe; • Monitor WCB property, including parking areas, with respect to potential theft or vandalism or unauthorized persons on the property; • Respond to staff requests for security (i.e.- potentially violent clients, loitering, etc.); monitor staff access to property as per CORe policy; • Notify police and CORe of issues or potential issues outside the security officer-s mandate and ability to control; • Receive courier packages between 4:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily; • Re-direct delivery personnel at all times to rear door for Printing and Postal Services (PPS) to receive all deliveries; • Manage items left by clients; • Raise flag at beginning of day and lower flag at end of day; • Collect mail from drop-box and deliver to front desk; • Complete physical “rounds” (check front, side and rear areas of property) including meeting rooms every two hours; • Ensure all interview rooms, meeting rooms, lobby washroom and reception area has been vacated prior to daily departure at end of day. • Escorting WCB staff and guests as appropriate.
