Summary Details:
The Province of British Columbia requires assistance in acquiring light detection and ranging (LiDAR) data for riverine regions throughout the B.C. interior. Mandatory areas include 2,256 km2 of LiDAR acquisition, 6,089 km2 of mandatory imagery acquisition and an optional 874 km2 of imagery acquisition. The final total area is subject to funding and may be amended at contract award. The objective of this project is to provide a high resolution/high accuracy base data set suitable to support modeling of overland flows resulting from potential dike breach scenarios as part of the Province's current floodplain mapping and the National Disaster Mitigation Program (NDMP). To meet this objective, the Proponent must be able to manage acquisition, quality assurance, production, quality control and timely delivery of geospatial products.
The successful proponent will be supplied with 1,358 aerial images acquired in the summer of 2019, adding 1,051 km2 to the total area requiring orthorectification. Where necessary, the Province will also supply underlying classified LiDAR point cloud data to assist in the orthorectification.
