SFU is a comprehensive public university located in British Columbia, Canada. Established in 1965, SFU has been ranked as one of Canada-s top three comprehensive universities for nearly 20 years.University enrollment exceeds 30,000 students, spreading over 3 campuses in Burnaby, Vancouver, and Surrey. In addition to the growing student population, the SFU community includes 6,500 faculty and staff, more than 130,000 alumni and many members from the greater community. This Request for Proposals (“RFP”) is an invitation by Simon Fraser University (“SFU” or “the University”) to prospective proponents to submit proposals for the provision of Hazardous Waste Management Services. General Requirements include the following: Utilize at all times during the term of the contract the services of a qualified individual with a minimum of a college diploma or university degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or chemical technology along with at least 3 years directly related experience in performing hazardous materials management, preferably in a research environment. Use their company-s vehicles for the purposes of delivering chemicals, collecting and transporting hazardous wastes on campus and off-campus and for removal of hazardous wastes from the SFU Hazardous Waste Facility (HWF). The vehicles will have appropriate licensing and insurance to permit transport of dangerous goods.
