- Description: 1.0 General Project Scope the Municipality of Central Manitoulin is a Rural Municipality Located in Northern Ontario on Manitoulin Island, in Lake Huron. the Municipality of Central Manitoulin-S Last Remaining Active Landfill Site in Providence Bay will Close to Landfill Activities June 1, 2023 as Per the most Recent Environmental Compliance Certificate Submission to the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks. the Site is Approximately 4.2 Hectares and is Located at 4077 Government Road, 1.0Km Southeast of the Village of Providence Bay and 500 M East of the Shoreline of Lake Huron, on the South Side of Government Road. the Site is Owned and Operated by the Municipality and was Used as a Landfill Since Prior to 1980. in Addition to the Active Landfill, there is a Transfer Station at the Site where Garbage (Solid Nonhazardous Waste) and Diversion Materials (Blue Box, Tires, Electronics, Etc) are Accepted. there are no Engineered Systems at the Site (Ex. Leachate or Gas Collection). the Site will Remain as a Transfer Station after the June 1, 2023 Closure to Landfilling Activities. with this Context in Mind, the Municipality is Seeking an Experienced, Qualified, and Competent Proponent to Implement all Required Closure Activities at the Site, which Includes: • Staking out the Waste Footprint to Ensure the Contours Align with the Closure Plan. • all Waste & Site Grading & Surface Preparation. • Installation of Compacted Soils Cover Material. • Install...
