- South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority (“TransLink”) is responsible for planning, financing and operating the public transportation system throughout Metro Vancouver. TransLink-s operating companies include Coast Mountain Bus Company Ltd. (CMBC), British Columbia Rapid Transit Company Ltd. (BCRTC) and West Coast Express Ltd. (WCE) and TransLink Security Management Ltd. (TSML). Additional information is available at www.translink.ca Project Summary: BCRTC is undertaking a Track Intrusion Engineering Study to test the existing Track Intrusion Detection System against possible replacement candidates. The goal is to gather sufficient information to inform a future replacement implementation using a programmatic approach. The process from study to procurement will progress according to the general steps below: a) Study alternate intrusion detection technologies that provide intrusion detection suitable for the SkyTrain operational environment b) Refine the high-level functional and performance requirements for a new Track Intrusion Detection System c) Design and implement a pilot Track Intrusion Detection system d) Inform a future procurement for a full deployment of the replacement Track Intrusion Detection systems across Expo and Millennium Lines, as well as BSP and SLS This RFI is to provide BCRTC with information to support the study of alternate Track Intrusion Detection Technologies in order to facilitate the subsequent steps of the pro...
