Project Description:Saint John Energy is a local distribution utility located in Saint John, New Brunswick. Today, Saint John Energy-s main streams of revenue are sales of electricity, a domestic water heater rental program and a mini-split heat pump rental program. The city of Saint John is one of the oldest cities in Canada. As such, many buildings use oil fired boilers to heat water in a hydronic loop for heating the building. To replace the established infrastructure is difficult and expensive. Rather, using air to water heat pumps can provide hot water for the hydronic loop at a fraction of the cost. Saint John Energy is looking to learn more about the products offered which can serve as a solution to this problem. Saint John Energy is further interested in how these products can apply to or enhance the current water heater and mini-split rental programs.
The units need to be CSA approved.
SJE is interested in the Global Warming Potential of the refrigerant used by the system.
