Background Statement
The Ministry's Specialized Intervention & Youth Justice (SIYJ) service line is looking to provide foundational training that will equip staff with knowledge and skills that support a transition to Restorative Justice and trauma-informed care principles. The training will result in a common language and understanding of Restorative Justice practices and approaches when working with Indigenous and Non-Indigenous communities; where and how Restorative Justice processes and practices can be facilitated; how to involve victims, the offender, the community, and key partners to support reconciliation.
