As part of SFU's Stage 2 Expansion of Cedar (https://docs.computecanada.ca/wiki/Cedar). SFU is looking to add some large memory nodes as an experimental system(s) to to its HPC cluster. We are looking for configurations as close as possible to 4 TB and 8 TB of addressable memory. Proponents are strongly encouraged to submit several configuration options as well as paths to increase the memory size.
We will consider all kinds of traditional and non-traditional memory configurations including but not limited to:
conventional DRAM
Intel Optane based solutions
ScaleMP MemoryONE based solutions
NVME based solutions
A complete list of technical requirements are in Appendix D.
The equipment purchase is funded by a Canadian Foundation for Innovation (CFI)/BC Knowledge Development (BCKDF) grant. The budget is $275,000 CDN inclusive of 5 year warranties/maintenance. This funding is only for the purchase of the equipment and warranties/maintenance, not for training or purchase of consumables. Therefore, the bid should only include the costs of the equipment and set-up, and not, training or consumables.
