Description : The Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK) is seeking proposals from qualified, experienced contractors to complete works associated with the construction of Compost Facilities at the Central Landfill and Creston Landfill sites. The RDCK is open to reviewing proposals that utilize alternate construction methods and/or schedules and which fit within the framework of the project scope and intent, and meet all required Codes, Acts and Regulations. The Central Landfill is located at 550 Emerald Road Salmo, BC. This closed landfill operates as a residential drop-off transfer station. HB Mines Tailings Facility Remediation and Closure works will be ongoing at the site and parts of the site including site access roads and areas surrounding the composting facility pad are designated under Mines Act permit M-218. The location of the proposed facility is on a partially built till pad adjacent to the HB Mines Tailings Remediation Borrow Area. Primary components of the facility include a covered receiving building on concrete foundation, asphalt working pad, blowers and aeration pipes, feedstock mixer, lighting and electrical supply, surface water management and pond, and industrial supply water well.
