Description:
The RDOS applied and received funding from the 2024 UBCM Disaster Risk Reduction-Climate Adaptation Grant to purchase two (2) portable flood tube mitigation systems and trailers, which will help ensure timely and cost effective flood response for the region. The purchase of the flood mitigation systems and trailers will be 100% grant funded and will provide the Regional District, local municipalities and First Nations communities with the necessary tool to rapidly deploy and stop flood waters from damaging critical infrastructures, cultural heritage sites, local residents and businesses. The flood mitigation systems and trailers will be stationed strategically in the region to be accessible and easily deployable to maximize their capability. Respondents are encouraged to use innovation to provide a proposal that meets the needs of the Regional District and adds additional valve to the project.
