The Solar Farm was initially approved in AUC decision 23418-D01-2019 (Connection Order 23418-D03-2019) and later modified in AUC Decision 25770-C01-2020. The site is operating (in self-supply and export) in compliance with the Municipal Own-Use Generation Regulation. The behind-the-fence solar farm is currently connected to the Alberta Interconnected Electric System by means of two parallel dedicated distribution circuits from a nearby substation. Each half of the solar farm is connected to one of the two distribution circuits. EPCOR is preparing for a design project related to modifying the grid connection for the solar farm to connect one half to a new distribution circuit fed from a different substation. EPCOR is interested in seeking consultants who may have the regulatory, legal and technical experience to assist EPCOR in navigating the regulatory process (i.e.: through Alberta Utility Commissioning and Alberta Electric System Operator, etc.).
