Description:
The project consists in replacing and upgrading the counterweights and their weighings, as well as the compensation cables/channels of elevators 1, 2, 10 to 13 and 15 to 18. It also includes the replacement of the pendant cables of elevators 10 to 13 and 15 to 18 at the Guy-Favreau complex. Main of this project is to guarantee the safety of users and to extend the lifespan of equipment. Installed by DOVER in 1982, these elevators have risks of failure due to the deterioration of pulley rolls and cracks in the supports of supports. Of Plus, category 5 tests (CAT5), now compulsory in Quebec, have increased pressure on the cabin and counterweight, thus increasing the probability of breakage. In eliminating the risk of catastrophic rupture and guaranteeing passenger safety, it is recommended to replace counterweights, deviation pulleys and counterweight parachutes of elevators 1, 2, 10 to 13 and 15 to 18. In addition, pendant cables must be replaced for elevators 10 to 13 and 15 to 18. This project aims to ensure the reliability of the elevators and to optimize their sustainability.
