Description:
Scope of Work/Overview:The project consists of replacing stairwell railings with code compliant railing system (NBC 2020 and CSA B651) and repair stairs/walls as necessary during completion of the work which includes patching, painting, etc... The new rail should not be as existing condition (wood square rails) as it is not compliant t accessibility requirements. The project consists of replace and install a new handrail system on the inside handrail to match the wall mounted handrail in profile, material, height, and colour to provide an equal and balanced system. The new handrail shall be continuous throughout the stairwell, with a balustrade design to ensure the safety of occupants. Handrail and balustrade designs shall conform to the accessibility design requirements of CSA B651-23 and National Building Code (NBC) 2020 respectively. The consultant shall also ensure that the wall-mounted handrail complies with the latest code requirements and, if necessary, provide the associated corrections.
