Description:
The Ministry of Environment and Parks, Recreation Sites and Trails BC (RSTBC) Branch, is seeking an experienced Recreation Site Operator to manage and maintain the Heffley Lake Recreation Site located near Kamloops, British Columbia, for an initial term of one, 7-month term, commencing April 1, 2025, and concluding October 31, 2025, with an option to renew for additional years upon successful fulfilment of the conditions within the Partnership Agreement.
The successful Proponent will be responsible for providing daily maintenance and management of the Heffley Lake Recreation Site by means of a Provincial Partnership Agreement, negotiated with the Ministry, for the term of the Agreement.

Heffley Lake is operated as a fee-for-service site where all revenue that is collected from the sale of overnight camping permits is retained by the Site Operator and is used to off-set their costs for managing and maintaining the recreation site, including wages, tools and equipment, and other expenses that are approved by the Province. The gross revenue collected by the previous Recreation Site Operator for Heffley Lake Recreation Site in the last three seasons was as follows:2024: $21,878.002023: $24,962.002022: $22,027.50The Ministry will meet with the successful Proponent periodically throughout the Operating Season in order to review the actual revenue and operating expenses and adjust the Annual Operating Plan as necessary.
